radio report

Stopped on the way home from work to call ToTD and ask if assistance was still needed to set up the email account from their new ISP. Caught the beginning of a radio report on CFS - including an interview with a sufferer whose symptoms are severe, so I hung around to hear it out. A lucid presentation, but nothing I hadn't already heard... Interesting points to visit at her web site: I've seen the functionality scales before, but haven't looked at them for some time. Check it out: my current score is Physical 70%, Cognitive 70%, Symptoms 80% (when I know I'm looking after myself, but I'm still stubborn and push the "beyond limits" stuff and drop back to 60% at times). My scores earlier this decade were around 40/30/40(dropping to 10) on this scale. This scale makes finer (and more useful for this sort of condition) distinctions at the lower end of the scale. The Bell(?) scale my Physiatrist used rated me at 20% functionality. And (*laughing*) the dreaded "f" word! Oh, yeah!

The next report was referring to a charge of anti-Americanism displayed by schoolteachers (loosely). It occurred to me while listening that, if the political right in this country is concerned that the next generation is being educated by leftists, perhaps they ought apply an economic solution to the issue. They could pay teachers more, which might attract more of those people for whom the prime motivator is economic, and so alter the composition of that sector of the workforce. If they wanted to, that is... *g*
