Drinking Lemon Tea
Recipe.
Pour a cup of boiling water over two or three lemon leaves.
Add the juice of one ripe lemon.
Cover and let stand.
Reflect that I've consumed fruit for which I have not laboured, spilled seed and wasted the promise of new life, appropriated and crippled the means of production. Rue the exploitative, profligate, bourgeois desires that well up within me, and the rampant will with which I act upon them.
Now note that, one way or another, the seeds, the flesh, the water will return to earth. My will is not other than thine, and thy will is not other than mine. I drink my fragrant tea in tranquility.
